My last photograph of the Eiffel Tower made me remember this one. This is from the very top of Denmark, Skagen. The pivot lighthouse (vippefyr) is the oldest one and the background the new lighthouse, Skagen Fyr. The Vippefyr consisted of a basket in which wood or coal was set alight. There is a third lighthouse there, called the old lighthouse, but I couldn’t get that in the photo.

  1. That’s a beautiful monochrome! I like the soft grey tones in you b&w conversion and how you gave prominence to the sky in your composition. I had no idea how early lighthouses used to look like, thanks for the interesting information.
